Chittoor is a district in Andhra Pradesh. It has close to
thirty seven lakh inhabitants. The district is the main administrative center.
The district is home to a huge number of religious locations that are immensely
significant. This is a major pilgrimage location in India. The district is
nestled at the Point Valley and is a major center for industry and agriculture.
History . . .
Chittoor had a number of dynasties ruling it during
different time points. The city was never ruled as a whole, unlike other
cities. The district passed hands from dynasties such as Pandyas, Rashtrakutas,
Chalukyas, Maurayas, Qutub Shahis, Mughals, and Satavahanas, to name just a
few.
The district was also ruled by Haider Ali from Mysore, albeit
for a short time. There were minor kingdoms that also occupied the territory.
There are a number of minor kingdoms that are inclusive of the Maltis, Mayana Nawabs,
Western Gangas and Bans. There are a huge number of sights.

Tirupati is one of the major pilgrimage locations in the
country, and is located sixty seven kilo meters from Chittoor. The city is
located in the south of Andhra Pradesh. The city has a huge significance with
respect to religion and is devoted to Sri Venkateshwara. The Temple of the
Seven Hills, as it is referred to, is one of the most visited worship places
and is known for being among the most affluent centers of worship.

Chandragiri is a tourist center that is close to twelve kilo
meters from Tirupati. The location was once the capital of Vijaynagar. The
innumerous forts, palaces and other structures here are worthy of note.

summer. These are located at an elevation of 1, 265 m A S L. The hills boast of
a super weather as well as some beautiful landscapes.
