Shri Siddhivinayak Temple: History, Aarti Timing, Architecture, How to Reach

According to Hindu Religion or Hindu Manyata before preliminary any innovative work or scheme firstly worship The Lord Ganesha as Shree Ganesha is the slayer of impediments in Sanskrit its Vighnaharta. Shree Siddhivinayak-temple or Ashtavinayak Ganesha Temple is situated Prabhadevi in Maharashtra’s famous city Mumbai. From the starting of 18th century this temple accomplishes the wishes of worshipers. Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil initially built this temple in November 1801. Now this is one of the wealthiest Temple of Maharashtra. Bollywood celebrities, Politicians and the famous businessmen of India incessantly came to Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple for their blessings, it also acquire the magnificence of temple.

Siddhivinayak Temple History

In starting the innovative construction of the Siddhivinayak-temple was a little 12ft. x 12ft quadrangle shaped with an arena fashioned block called “Shikhara”. It was financed by a lady Deubai Patil for the completion of their blessing and constructed by the contractor Laxman Vithu in November 1801.

The temple compound is about 2550 sq m. There are two “Deepamalas” of about 3.6 meters in temple compound, accommodations for the wardens and a home for relaxation. There is also a pond of water of 30 x 40 sq m in a part of temple complex, it was excavated near the beginning of 19th century by Nardulla for contradict shortage of water. A Hanuman Temple was also put up in temple compound in the year 1952. With the half of the 19th century a large number of followers commenced visiting here and the reputation of the Temple extends. In the end of the 19th century the popularity of the temple augmented radically and a large number of followers came here.

Architecture of Temple

In the year 1990 the renewal of the temple started and with the expenditure of about 3 crores rupees it was finished in 3 years. The white marble and colorful granite used under this beautiful temple, this is the fabulous example of well structured design. The renewed temple is like a palace of multistory fine architectural design. The main Puja and Darshan of the shrine prearranged on the first floor of the temple. The second floor is mainly used for kitchen for making of Prasad or Naivedya of Shree Ganesha, there is also an administrative office and a room for relaxation. On the third floor of the temple main office of the administration set upped, a discussion hall, office of C.E.O., I.T. and computer department office. On the fourth floor of the temple building there is an enormous library with a compilation of more than 8000 manuscripts on religion. A study foyer for students is also there with a compilation of medical and engineering volume without charges. Groceries preparation for carnivals is on the fifth floor. The tiara of the temple made up of gold dishes with well sculpture work. The Kumbhabhishekam or ritual of installation of tiara seized on June 13th 1994 by the famous saints of that time Shree Shankaracharya and other famous saints.

Siddhivinayak Temple

Tuesday is chief day of this temple or we can say that Tuesday is the day of Ganapati ji. On this day the timing of all the programs or Aartis is varies from other days.  On Tuesday, the day is starting with Shree Darshan in the early morning on 3:15 AM to 4:45AM, just after that the time of Kakad Aarti is started on 05:00AM to 05:30, when the Kakad Aarti is finished then again Shree Darshan is started on 5:30AM to 12:15PM. At 12:15PM to 12:30PM Naivedhya is prearranged. After that, time of Shree Darshan is started on 12:30PM to 08:45PM again, now it’s time for night Aarti on 09:30PM to 10:00PM, when it is completed the last Aarti of the day or Shej Aarti is organized on 12:00AM.

Except for Tuesday, the timing on other days of the week (Wednesday to Monday) are remains same that are, Firstly Kakad Aarti is organized on 5:30AM to 6:00AM, just after that Shree Darshan is organized on 06:00AM to 12:15PM. Naivedhya started on 12:15PM and ended on 12:30PM, Again the time of Shree Darshan is started on 12:30PM to 7:20PM, the time of Aarti is started on 7:30PM and completed on 8:00PM, after that again the time of Shree Darshan on 08:00PM to 09:50PM, The last one Shej Aarti is started on 09:50PM.

Main Festivals

Vinayaki Chaturthi, Sankashti Chaturthi, Maghi Shree Ganesh Jayanti, Bhadrapad shree Ganesh Chaturthi are the main festivals on Siddhivinayak.

Reaching Mumbai is extremely trouble-free because it is well connected with all over the world with airways and all over the India from railways or roadways. There are a lot of prepaid taxis and city link buses for reaching up to the temple, local trains also there for local convenience.
